Has anyone had any problems with Marisol's wig or her ability to stand? I just ordered her, however, I am not opening her until Christmas. But, because she is an LE, I assume if something is wrong with her I will have to return her before the end of the year. Does anyone have a history of problems that I should make my husband check for?
I've been reading far to many Elizabeth crooked wig posts. Before those, I would have never considered checking my dolls for quality control.

I've had 2 Marisol's and they were both perfect.

None of my dolls has ever been able to stand on her own, so I don't even bother to try. Both my new Marisol and new Elizabeth are perfect. (BTW - Marisol is my new favorite doll. She's in the closet 'til Christmas but is far more beautiful than I ever dreamed.)

Marisol stands perfectly for me and has no problems, but then again, I'm one of those collectors who can't see anything wrong with her girls, lol. The only thing I ever have fixed is silvereye, everything else gets left alone. I mean, my Samantha is slowly going bald, but I just leave her hair in one style now, she can even still stand if I put on her high button boots. (She does look extremely uncomfortable when I make her stand, so she sits a lot) But, what I'm saying is that my Marisol is perfect, but I'm an incompetant judge

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Really? I have 9 dolls and none of them have ever had any problems standing. Usually in a couple different positions (legs together, legs slightly apart like walking...)

I have six girls, including Marisol, and all of them are able to stand alone, nice and tall.

But it took me three Mollys to get one that would do that - and her legs are still pretty floppy, though she DOES stand perfectly by herself (my two pre-Mattels are tighter than her). I think I'd get your DH to check for you, because it would be horrible to open her up after all the anticipation and find out she's not as perfect as you dreamed.

If you don't think he can judge, I'd get a friend to check her out for you.

My Marisol stands alone very well. I think all of my dolls do, though I don't display them standing alone because all my door shutting and window sash slipping would send them flying.

DD has Marisol and she is a beautiful doll. She came to us in perfect condition. She has had her since April and she is as good as when she first came. She is a real beauty!

I also wonder what is happening with the crooked wig thing at AG. Are they dropping the ball on quality and getting quanity crazy??

It seems to me that someone at the factory is not inspecting the dolls thoroughly before packing them to be sold. I can handle the disappointment of receiving an imperfect doll for myself but if one of my DD's opened a box for Christmas and the doll had glue in her hair or a messed up wig I would be really upset. I never even thought about inspecting the dolls before giving them to DD's. Now thanks to this board I will look them over very carefully before wrapping them.

I am very picky and our Marisol arrived perfect. Though I would want to check her out closely before putting her away for later. You never know and you don't want to have a problem later and AG has no Marisol to exchange for you.
